the last hours of summer

We’ve been enjoying the last little bit of summer

It’s the little things that make me *so* happy!  Cal is digging asparagus and goes back for seconds.  Yesss!

Our babies

Dallas Child hooked us up with some *awesome* seats to the circus last week.  Our first experience with elephant parades and $12 cotton candy!  Thanks Jill…..we had tons of fun!

Kind of random…..but…..another little thing that makes me smile:  its been a solid 3 weeks that I have remembered to use my reusable grocery sacks!  Every time!  Our house is officially annoying-polluting-plastic-sack-free.

uh oh….behind again!

I am a bit behind showing some sneeks from our awesome shoots this week.  We are still playing a fair amount of catch up from the big trip to Florida, and our baby girl goes to Kindergarten next week, so there’s been lots of preparation for that!

We did have such a great time in the studio this week!  Check out these super fun brothers~

And here is Sarah(9)+Zachary(6)+Hannah Grace(3)

We met this fun crowd out at the park….meet McCormick(13)+Halle(11)+Kellan(9)  and their very special friend, Marta.  While this family lived in Poland for a short time, Marta was their nanny.  Marta was here visiting, and even went on vacation to Jamaica with the bunch last week.

Here is sweet Bronwyn (one year)…a very precious girl that we have seen grow from her mom’s tummy to a brand new baby to this walking big girl!

And…….Abby(6)+Hank(4)+Libby(2)+Ruby(8 months)!  We just love love this family.  Every couple years, they come back with someone new.  Baby Ruby is so calm, so sweet, and so love-y.  Everyone has such distinct personalities, and I think these images really show it!

Two Month Olds!

Normally we see small babies when they are newborns, so last week was a bit different, as we saw 5 little ones around 2 months old.  As sweet as they can be, a baby around this age can be somewhat of a challenge to photograph:  they are typically only awake about 30 minutes after a feeding till they get drowsy (and sometimes a bit grouchy), they are not as “bendy” as a newborn, and those adorable first smiles?  They are so…darn…fast!

BUT….take a look at this cuteness overload! Sweating it out in the studio has never been so rewarding.  Thanks babies!

Chloe (8 weeks)

Hiya! (Can you even get over the HAIR?  She is so perfect!!)

Harper (6 weeks)

Ohh…..this little, delicate sweetie melted me!

Check out her mad standing skills…

Betsy+Alice (10 weeks)

One beautiful baby+another one that looks just like her+two parents who are OVER THE MOON= serious yumminess.

And last but not least….

Christian (10 weeks)

Mr. Cool, baby Chris is just super agreeable.  He smiles all the time.  Except for when that big black box they call a camera is covering up the crazy lady’s face.

So Chris’ grandma got in on the action.  And boy, does he just light up when she’s around!

Chris and I had a little conversation.  I told him how those lighting fast 2 month old smiles are considered the hardest part of my job.  So, agreeable as he is….he just gave it to me.  I guess all I had to do was ask!

But my personal favorites?  The ones we got after he had just*had*enough.

Skylar (20 months)

We saw this little man first when he was residing in mom’s belly, then again as a newborn.  So I was in quite a time warp when he came back last week as such a big boy!  I swear it feels like last month when he was curled up in dad’s hands….
