Mama loves her boy….

Oh sweet baby girl! This pretty little thing has the most amazing head full of hair. Mom, grandma and I wanted to really capture her as a teeny little newborn….all curled up…since she is so petite. Well…..Miss Avery had other ideas. (she is amost a month old…..see the post below for more explanation on that!) I am so proud of mom and grandma for hanging with us for F-I-V-E hours to get these portraits. Yeah Avery! I knew all along you’d finally realize my warm and cozy studio was the perfect place to crash…

Hello new hot pink chair! Aren’t you pretty?

And here’s one from the first four hours of our session……WIDE eyed!

This Monday I did a first…..I traveled to a photography workshop in Omaha hosted by the uber baby poser Kelley Ryden. Now, I have been photographing newborns going on 9 years, but we can all learn a new trick or two! It was great to watch Kelley and her sister Tracy work with these beautiful brand new babies. They are masters of getting little ones curled into perfectly flawless bundles. Shooting just for me was really refreshing and I learned a lot along the way. Here are a few from the day.

All hands on deck! Here are Kelley and Tracy securing baby Erica into a hanging sling

Most of my clients know this but………the only way these images are possible are with a “fresh” newborn. I prefer to get babies in within the first two weeks. The earlier the better! Images of one or two month olds, while beautiful, typically do not have the same qualities to them. Pregnant mommies, please call us while the bun is still cooking so we can set up your newborn appointment about 10 days after your due date.![]()
Three adorable siblings…..but the main reason for the shoot was a special 4 year old portrait of Catcher for his Sassy (Grandma Sally). She brings each of her grankids at this age. Love it!

Miss Molly…

And here’s the big hunk of baby love, Griffin.
His mama calls him “Big Papa”. Ha!

Seriously? The first time we photographed these guys the girls were just 18 months old and Jack was an adorable first grader. I am feeling very geriatric!

We had a blast hanging out with them once again in Las Colinas last week. I LOVE it when older kids are really into it (Jack loves photography himself and digs b&w). So fun!

Gosh, how beautiful are these girlies?

And I am sorry, but mom and dad are pretty adorable too….

I blogged this about two years ago…and I think it warrants another post!
I see babies every day, and I am constantly amazed that so many parents are battling the same evil monster that we did with both our babies…..reflux. I thought I’d share the biggest blessing that happened to our family during that time: Pediatric Chiropractic. With Ava, she was 5 months old when we discovered Lomonaco Family Chiropractic in Highland Village. She had been medicated with Zantac for 3 months and while her symptoms were much better with the medication, I just felt awful about giving my tiny fragile baby an adult medication for heart burn. Within one adjustment we quit the Zantac cold turkey with no problems. (I had tried for months to wean her off the medication with no success). With Cal, he was born with such bad reflux that at the age of just 3 days he had to have an upper GI xray just to make sure that all the “plumbing was right.” I begged our pediatrician to give us through the weekend to begin the treatments and medication she wanted to prescribe to him, and we drove as fast as we could to the Lomonaco’s. Again, we had great success and Cal is still drug free. We have learned so much about natural health care and maintenence of the immune system through these amazing doctors. In addition to helping to cure the reflux, our kids have had ear infections healed and allergies cleared. Its truly amazing to see such healing through a gentle treatment that helps the nervous system most effectivly run the other systems of the body. I really recommend looking into this treatment if your family is sleepless and your baby is miserable!
There are so many images that I loved from this session! Here are just a few.

Hellllloooo Mr. Blue eyes….

Cooper was W-I-D-E awake for hours! Poor mama really did a great job trying to nurse him to sleep about 225 times. Finally, he just gave up! Ahhhhhhh……and I had a chance to play with my new ceramic pot.

It was such a nice day, we hopped outside the studio for a few too. LOVE!

Miss Lauren is the third kiddo in this family we have seen as a small baby. Each time, we photograph mom with the sweet baby over her shoulder. Rounding out the series:
