Natalie + Ben = ?

I loved getting to know these guys. The conversation went something like this:

“Oh you play violin professionally for the Dallas Opera? I’m in awe! I played cello forever!”

“Oh you are studying to be a chiropractor? I love chiropractors!”

“Oh you’re from Indiana? I’m from Indiana!”

“Oh you used to live in Chicago? I lived in Chicago!”

“You studied jazz at the University of Texas Dallas? Our framer’s son is studying jazz at UTD.”

That last one was sort of a stretch. But you get the idea.

First and foremost, this adorable couple is expecting a precious baby in a couple months. And as much fun as we had together this week…..I have a feeling it will be even sweeter the next time.

And HOOOLLLLAAAA for the first time in I-don’t know-how-long-it’s-not-been-110 degrees-and-we-can-go-shoot-outside!!!! Ninety-five degrees has never felt so refreshing….

What? There’s THREE babies in there??? No way. Ashlyn’s mommy looks WAYYYY too amazing!!! Oh, we just love this adorable family….and now there will be so many more of them to love. I’ll tell you A’s mommy is incredible. I see her dropping of sweet Ashlyn at preschool….completely beautiful and pulled together despite the 100 degree heat and the early morning hour. Which are perfect excuses for me to roll in unshowered and pony-tailed, without even the pregnancy card to play either! Anyway, this sweet little girl is going to make one wonderful big sister soon….

I so love photographing pregnant mamas and the daddies too….to me there is really not a better time in your life to celebrate your body. Growing a miracle was the most powerful time of my life, and I get excited each time I get to meet families going through such a transformation. It was a real honor to photograph two expecting women last week….

So, less than 24 hours before this photo was taken, the ground was covered with 6 inches of snow.

Texas. Go figure.

These adorable two came all the way from Kansas City for our session together. Matt and I can’t wait to travel up to them in KC when Mr. Man is born in June.

It was our first outdoor session of the spring!!! And believe me, when we woke up Sunday to a winter wonderland, I was a bit concerned that this Monday session would happen the way I envisioned it would. But again, this is Texas….so the plan went off without a hitch. In 72 degree weather, no less.

I so so so love photo’ing body art!! I have a special admiration for beautiful artisan work considering one unfortunate incident when I was 17 years old. Think 3 girls with fake id’s getting hideous hip tattoos to secure friendships before college. Mine was a world….you know, because I was really environmentally conscious, duh….that turned out rather like a smooshy green and blue jigsaw puzzle. It was removed when I was 25.

Now I just love to admire others’ work done by true professionals (considering mine was done in a shop while reclining in a lazyboy with John Cougar Melloncamp LP covers stapled to the wall as decor. Maybe that should have been our hint.)

Without any further ado…. here’s beautiful Miss Andy (and Mr. Man)….
