Tom (14) + Mark (8)

Talk about a great mother’s day present!

These guys came in on Friday afternoon to give mom just what she wanted…..portraits to match what we did of their brother and sister years ago at the same ages.  One commemorating his first communion, and the other his graduation from the eight grade.

I had a lot of fun processing these in a film style…..sometimes I really miss those days!   I think lately we forget that an image can be just clean and simple and unfussy…..and REAL.

Wow, we have really seen these guys grow up.  We started photographing them when Ethan was a bump in the belly.  And hello, he’s now in second grade!  This time around I’ll have to say the biggest accomplishment….is…getting dad to SMILE!  Yes!  He is such a tough guy…..a fireman, a bad a**, and a smirker in pictures.   I mean, he is so tough,  they raise snakes and stuff.  So, I’ll have to say—Thank you Mr. Ron!  You guys are awesome and we love getting to see your family grow!

We’re back in business people!  Matt had an amazing trip to Costa Rica last week catching 100 pound tarpon while I held (tried to hold?) down the fort back here.  Much chaos ensued, as many know.  But then after a quick trip to Michigan for the weekend at Amy Wenzel’s workshop (which was super fabulous!), I feel renewed and ready to kick it this busy season.  So stop raining, K? K.

Hello gorgeous, vibrant, fun family that drove all the way from Austin for your portraits!  We think we love you!  Are these guys not the BEST?  (thankyouthankyouthankyou for the break in the rain yesterday!!)

I have a few posts for my very patient families from last week….

Matt whisked me away on a surprise trip to Colorado for our anniversary on Thursday, then we spent the day on Sunday photographing the Royals baseball team family day in Kansas City.  Back home now, but it’s been a whirlwind!

Here are some sweet friends we hadn’t seen in a couple years.  Man, they have really grown!

Nicole (High School Senior)

Nikki just so happens to be our previous studio manager’s daughter.  And hello, she is gorgeous!  We had a lot of fun around downtown Plano and then at some fields right near our studio.

Nikki, I am trying to get in touch with you!  Hopefully you are not dealing with a mean case of chiggers like I am!  Was it worth it?  Yes, decidedly so.  Now…..I am off to the quickie emergency doctor place down the road to see if they can prescribe me some industrial strength anti itch meds!  Drug me up!!  (and if you know me…..you’d know that it must be bad for me to say that!!)

Here is Nikki in her graduation dress, in front of her first job….as a hostess at Kelly’s East Side.  Hope you had a great first day yesterday!

The scene of the crime:  So pretty, and yet so evil.

The clouds were looking a bit ominous towards the end…
